WENDLING, William Edward - Putnam

William Edward Wendling, 83, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Retta Silvey near here Tuesday afternoon. He was born near Corydon, Harrison Co., Indiana August 28, 1854, the son of John and Potiah P. Wendling. He was married to Jennie Carney, January 23, 1874, at Mt. Zion, Boone Co., Indiana. In addition to the daughter, other survivors include a son, George E. of North Salem, a sister, Mrs. Charles Graham of Boone Co., two grandsons; Karl I. Silvey of South Bend and Willard E. Silvey of Roachdale, a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Davis of North Salem and a great grandson, Phillip Allan Davis of North Salem. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon with burial in Roachdale cemetery.    --- thanks so very much to Marilyn W. for sharing her obit collection.
